The Beauty of Baccarat

There’s a reason why we prefer Hollywood summer spectacles of the big-budget variety. High entertainment at minimal effort provides an outlet that mainstream consumers crave.

After all, exercising the cranium muscle is reserved strictly for the workplace or classroom, not your amusement venues.

Enter Baccarat, the perfect platform for mindless, adventurous gaming – outside of a one-armed bandit, of course. Whereas many offerings like poker and blackjack remain dependent upon skills and/or strategies, baccarat success relies solely on uncontrolled luck.

In fact, baccarat is much akin to lounging poolside at the Bellagio. Once your bet is placed, you can tilt back and allow the house to perform all the labor.

Spawning from France in the early 1900s, Baccarat has exploded upon the global gaming community, fast becoming a favorite among players burnt out on blackjack. In 1967, pop culture unveiled both James Bond and the beloved card game in the original Casino Royale (1967). Shaken martinis aside, baccarat has gradually infiltrated our gaming rooms with its widespread presence.

As blackjack’s distant cousin, it foregoes the golden twenty-one in favor of the desired nine. Unlike blackjack, however, baccarat is a purely automated affair, requiring no such “hit” or “stay” commands from its players. Like bidding on greyhounds, you’re simply wagering on which dog will prevail: the player or banker (the dreaded tie provides a third option). Baccarat also remains a one-man show (the dealer), as your fate lying strictly at the mercy of the drawn cards.

For a game of such longstanding history, baccarat is still a general unknown among many gamers, as roulette and blackjack attract a more generic interest. Strolling through the hushed gathering of a baccarat table starkly contradicts the rowdiness of craps, or even the digitized acoustics of the slots area. Thankfully, baccarat remains an affair of revered charm and solace among its loyal enthusiasts.

Nonetheless, it’s served up in a variety of brands and flavors, including punto banco, Super 6, Macao, Chemin de fer, Baccarat Banque, and the newborn EZ Baccarat.
