The clock is tickin’ and he’s taking a lickin’.

His hand scrambles into the pocket, searching for a hint of salvation and feeling nothing but lint.

He’s well behind in this struggle, but this is no time to panic or fret. He’s got ‘em right where he wants them.

After all, he’s the Comeback Kid.

After dusting himself off, he concocts his next play and goes immediately back to work.

He’s cooler than cool, this not-so-average Joe, and he’s truly bred for these come-from-behind theatrics.

We’ve seen plenty of Joe Montanas in the casino universe, those who’ve engineered turnarounds removed from believability. They seem to have a propensity for scaling Himalayan-sized deficits.

Whereas many chipsters fumble away their bankrolls under carelessness and shoddy play, the Joe Montana knows to remain poised, purposeful, and powered for the challenge.

He slides his palm across the table’s green felt as if it's his own personal playing field. Neither the deficit nor the adversity can rattle him.

He knows that pulling off the unlikely comeback comes down to two critical elements: patience and discipline.

The impatient player, not unlike an antsy quarterback, becomes prone to blunders (or turnovers) that prove all too counterproductive. Trying to recoup funds too quickly often leads to rash decisions, critical mishaps, and ultimately, a deeper deficit.
